Australia score three late goals to win

Results for Day Three of the First Round

Coach Hiddink made two master substitutions, when he introduced Cahill and Aloise into the attack with the Socceroos trailing by one goal. Two goals by Tim Cahill and one by John Aloise ensured that Australia collected all three points.

Man of the Match, Thomas Rosicky ensured that the Czech Republic's campaign in the tournament was on track. The Americans should traces of their brilliance but were no match for the Czechs.

Michael Essien played a luck lustre game against the Italians and had a few weak attempts at the goal. The black cats played their brand of soccer but the Italians were the victors at the end of the game
