Man Utd win their seventh game in succession

Some brilliant play by Wayne Rooney and Park paved the way for Sir Alex's men to notch up their seventh victory in a row .

Rudd van Nistlerooy scored in the forty fifth minute after receiving the ball by JI Sung Park and the goal was his 23rd of the season. His play during the evening was not his best.

Wayne Rooney played well by making some great moves and marshalling the play area.

The win here almost cements Man U's position in second place

Inter milan defeat Villareal 2 - 1

Diego Forlan gave Inter Milan a scare when he scored the first goal for Villareal just under a minutes play. Adriano reduced the deficit in the seventh minute by scoring a gem of a goal.

The introduction of Maartins made a difference in the manner which Inter attacked the ball and were rewarded during the fifty fourth minute when he scored the second goal for the Italians.

Maartins and Adriano kept on pilling the pressure but the Spaniards kept themselves in the game and prevented Inter from scoring more goals.

Mancini's men will travell to Spain in six days time and will ahve to be at their best to ensure a place in the semi finals.

Lyon vs AC Milan
AC Milan kept their hopes alive for reaching the semi finals by playing to a goal less draw against Lyon in France.

Gregory Coupet kept the italian strike force at bay with some brilliant saves. Deda on the other
had a relatively easy match.

Lyon travel to Milan in six days time and will have to play their best soccer however the Italian with their home ground advantage will be favarourites to progress.

man Utd take on Westham in an EPL encounter

Manchester United play host to Westham this evening in their EPL encounter and the reds should have the measure over Westham.

Sir Alex will be rooting for the seventh successive victory in a row . he is however facing some injury problems to Wes Brown and Kieran Richardson. He will be including three youngsters in his squad with Rossi being the most likely youngster to feature in the encounter against the Hammers.

The Reds should beat Westham by two goals this evening.

Inter milan take on Villareal - Quarter Finals Leg 1

Inter take on the visiting Villareal for their Quarter Final encounter this evening.
Mancini will be hoping that his strikers get onto the scoresheet as quickly as possible since they havent been scoring lately. Adriano should be at the top of his game and get the desired result that he is so noted for.

The Spaniards will be fired up in order to keep their unbeated record thusfar in the competition but the Italians with the home ground advantage will persevere to get maximum advantage from this game .

The outcome of this game should favour the Italians by two goals and the Spaniard may just get one back.


Houliers merry Frenchmen should have the measure of the poor travellers in AC Milan. The match will not be all plain sailing for Lyon since AC have the ability to turn the tides.

A draw seems to be the result with Lyon possibly get the edge in a two - one victory of AC Milan

Arsenals outplay Juventus

The young Gunner outplayed Juventus to such an extend that the Italians had two players
red carded.
Goals in the first half by the 18 year old Cesc Fabergas and in the second half by Thierry Henry
pave the way for Arsenal to have have a good chance of reaching the semi finals for the first time.
The young Gunners were disciplined and worked hard in breaking down Capello's team with some stunning moves created by the Arsenal's players.

In the return leg, Juventus will be without three prominent players, the red carded Mauro Camoraussi,Jonathan Zebina and Patrick Viera who received his second yellow card.

Benifica held Barcelona to a goal less draw where the goalkeepers on either side were the stars of the game. Benfica will travel to Spain for their return match which will be a toug one.

Arsenals take on Juventus at highbury

The young Gunners will be hosting Patrick Viera and his Italian compatriots for a Quarter final clash at highbury.
Patrichkwill be anticiapting a warm welcome from the fans whom he served for many years prior to his departure to take on a black and white shirt. he would as he enters the field remininsce the days when he wore the red currant shirt.
He will be facing a young Gunner in Cesc Fabergas who is starting to mould under Arsene Wenger to an extend where other teams are starting to look at his talent.
Arsenal will be the sole English representative at the stage of the competition and will be going all out to overcome Juve.
Arsenals will be aiming to take glory with them when they go to their new stadium next season.

A close encounter however I predict that Arsenals will beat Juventus by two goals.


Barca with Ronaldinho and E'to will be tavelling to take on Benifica at home and the Portuguese will be all fired up to take advantage of the home ground in order to return to Spain with an advantage.

Barcelona will be favourites to progress , however a draw seems to be on the cards for this encounter.

Champions League Quarter finals Fixtures

The fixtures for the quarter finals of the Uefa Champions League have now been released and some interesting encounter face some of the teams.

Barcelona would be the bookies favourite to progress to the semi finals.

Arsenal take on Juventus and Patrick Viera will be returning to Highbury after seven months. He is surely going to get a warm welcome from the crowd.

AC Milan take on Lyon and Inter Milan host the Spaniards Villareal.

Arsenal will be playing against their past captain Patrick Viera, when Juventus travel to play the Gunners at Highbury.

Champion's League Results

Arsenal held Real Madrid to a goaless draw and progress to the Quarter finals stage of the competition. The gunners are the sole English representatives in the competition.

Liverpool were outplayed by the visiting Portuguese team, Benfica and lost the match by two goals to nil and fail to make a place for themselves in the quarter finals.

Lyon proved to be to strong for PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday evening. The Fenchmen won the game convincingly by beating PSC by four cler goals.

Werder Bremen scored first in Italy against Juventus . The Germans played well however, the Italians progressed to the next stage of the competition by beating Werder bremen 2 - 1 . Emerson scored in the 88th minute and the aggregate 4 -4 was enough for Juventus to progress by the away goal rule.

AC Milan trashed Bayern Munich 4-1 goals . The Germans were outplayed and the win here by AC Milan allowed them to progress to the next round.

Arsenal, Juventus, AC Milan and Lyon join Barcelona, Villareal, Benfica
and the winners of the Inter Milan Ajax match for the Quarter final draw
next Friday.

Champions League Tonight 08/03/2006

Rafeal Benitez Red's have a home ground advantage over Benifica, however they trail by one goal and the reds will have to score over two to ensure progress into the next round.
Robbie Fowler will be all fired up to and hopefully his magic together with the returning Luis Gracia will help Liverpool to move forward. Benifica on the other hand will play their best to keep their advantage.
A draw is predictor here since both the teams will be striving to go forward.

Barcelona draw and move forward

Barcelona and Chelsea played to a one all draw and progress to the next leg of the competition. A late penalty scored by Lampard was not enough for Chelsea who for the first time in four seasons failed to reach the Quarter final leg of the competition.

The Scotsmen played their hearts out but were unfortunate in not being able to progress. The match ended in a draw and Villareal move on to the next leg on aggregate.

Werder Bremen were knocked out of the competition by Juventus with goals by Trezegeut and Emerson. Juventus now join Barca and Villareal
in then ext leg of the competition.

Chelsea travel to Spain

Jose Mourinho received an unwelcome from the Spanish crowd that gathered at the airport when the team flew in for their encounter with
Barca.
Barcelona hold a 2-1 advantage against Chelsea after a great goal by samuel Eto fifteen days ago at Stamford Bridge. The Spaniard have lost only once in 20 encounters against English teams at Camp Nou when they lost to Liverpool.
Chelsea will try to ensure that they are not knocked out before reaching the Quarter Final stage of the competition.

England take on Uruguay this evening for their friendly encounter. Sven Ericksson will be watching his team closely so that he may be able to select his side for the forthcoming World Cup.

Uruguay will be without two of their players, namely stricker Alvaro Recoba and Defender
Diego Lopez.

England should win this encounter by a margin of two goals. Wayne Rooney if he repaets his weekend form will score for England.

France play Slovakia and the Frenchmen should have the edge .

Turkey after failing to make the final groupings for the World cup in Germany will be out to make amends in their match against the Czech Republic
