Liverpool versus Arsenals this weekend

Liverpool play host to the young Arsenal team whar plague with injuries to Thierry Henry, Robin von Persie Theo Walcott and Jeremie Alliediere. Adebayor returns from suspension and would add some depth to the frontline with Baptista. The youngers if they can take advantage of any early chances and find the goalpost, they surely would be in with a chance failing which, Liverpool will have the measure of the youngsters.

Manchester United play at home against Blackburn and will be ablt to strengthen their position in the title race. Blackburn will try to hold off any pressure that Manchester United can provide but the Reds will win this match

Chelsea play away from home this weekend against Watford and they should win this encounter and still be in line for a strike at silverware.

Tottenham Spurs are the favourites to beat Reading and although the visitors will try to hold them back, Spurs should win this encounter.

A few upset results can be on the cards.

Barcelona knocked out of the Champions League

Although Barcelona piled on the pressure and had the better of most of the game, they were knocked out of the competition on goal aggregate. Eidur Gudjohnsen scored the only goal of the match in the 75th minutes but this was just not good enough sice Liverpool had the slight edge on away goal. A very disappointing week for Barca as they lost their league match over the weekend against Seville and now being eliminated from the UEFA Champions League.

Two great goals by Robbin and Ballack during the second half of the match gave Chelsea an aggregate of 3-2 and ensure their safe passage to the Quarter Finals.

Valencia progress to the Quarter Finals for the first time, thanks to the great goals that they had scored during the first encounter against Inter in Italy. The Italians conservative approach to the game in Spain cost them a place in the Quarter Finals.

Francessco Totti's goal in the 22nd minute and Mancini's goal during the 44th minute ensure a berth for AS Roma in the Quarter Finals and the Italians have progressed into this part of the competition for the first time . Roma were the more impressive team during the match.
